First of my question is where are you at in the process?

If you are just starting out and dont even have a website yet, here are a few tips on how to get started for free or close enough to it.

You can get a free domain for a year off of app.xfinityfree.net

make sure that you keep it under the chococlatey setting.

you can get your first domain for 1$ with ionos.com

wordpress will give you a free domain but you dont have access to all of the cool plugins and extra stuff to jazz up your website.

Hostinger.com is another free for 1yr subscription

Theres probably more but those are just the few I am knowledgeable about.

Next you need to find a server. there are plenty of different servers that you can use to host your website.

I am pretty sure that squarespace.com is free as long as you have a domain. same as wix.com

I got my website through ionos.com. i paid for a 1$ domain and then i got the package deal with wordpress for 13$ for the whole year.

Now you can even set up a virtual machine so that it will deploy wordpress for free but I will tell you that if you comment asking about it. Its a much harder task to complete. especially if you are not tech savvy.

There is also medium.com that give you a domain for free and you can post for free. There is an option for a paid membership but you do NOT have to pay.

Tumblr.com is another free blogging site like medium. Its like the facebook of blogging.

Substack.com is another free blog platform that gives you a free domain with them.

Now when it comes to the actual blogging you want to make sure that you keep up with all of your meta data and SEO Coding. They are really important when it comes to Google recognizing your page as a real website.

Blogging can be a lot of fun. I personally love blogging. I just started doing it a few months ago.

When you are going to write a blog make sure you have a strong title. I recommend using a power word. something like zen, profound, awe-inspiring. You know words that hit hard and have a lot of meaning behind them.

Pictures are a really good utilization too. It keeps your reader more engaged and gives them a mini break from the reading. Plus it brings animation to your blog.

You can basically write about anything but I recommend sticking to things that you actually know and have experience with. People can tell when you are a fraud. It shows in your writing. So keep it genuine.

I have come to find out that blogs about relationships, business innovations, mental health, and self-improvement topics are the most influential. Thats where I get them most action.

try to be consistent. people really like it when they can go to your blog and see that you are posting relevant things

connect with your readers. comment back, shoot them a shout out, give them a like. connect with other writers. the more exposure the better. medium is the best when it comes to community and people responding/reacting to your page.

promote your blog anyway that you can. I personally love using twitter and pinterest. its where i get most of my followers.

And seriously dont stress or worry about it too much. the followers will come. the likes will come. the comments will come. you just have to be patient.
