In your statemen, it is very true that our wants are usually many compared to our needs. But first, we need to know the difference between the two words. A need is a necessity or something you need to live. This means that without it, life might be difficult and sometimes it may lead to loss of life. Clothing, food, shelter are very important. health and education also to some extent qualify to be needs. Wants are those that we would love to have to make our lives more comfortable and easy. Cars, phones, televisions, computers, games, toys and so many others usually make our life more interesting. It does not mean that without them life will have any negative effect.

Human nature have always required us to live more comfortable and happy life. This is what makes us to have more wants than needs. For people who can afford more of their wants than needs, it means that they have already met their basic needs.
