AB negative is the rarest of the eight main blood types - just 1% of our donors have it. Despite being rare, demand for AB negative blood is low and we don't struggle to find donors with AB negative blood.
The most uncommon blood type is AB-. AB- is a rare blood type that is found in less than 1% of the population. People with this blood type have the A and B antigens on the surface of their red blood cells, but lack the Rh antigen.
