In American football, a touchdown is worth 6 points. When a team successfully advances the ball into the opponent's end zone, either by running or catching a pass, they score a touchdown. This results in the team being awarded 6 points. After scoring a touchdown, the team also has the opportunity to earn additional points through a point-after-touchdown (PAT) attempt. The PAT can be either a one-point conversion by kicking the ball through the uprights or a two-point conversion by advancing the ball into the end zone again.
