The ozone layer protects us from UV radiation through ozone absorption and scattering processes. Excessive exposure to UV radiation can lead to skin cancer, sunburn, and cataracts; which we would all be more likely to have without the ozone layer.

The ozone layer absorbs and filters out a significant portion of the Sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation, preventing it from reaching the Earth's surface and thus protecting us from harmful UV rays.

The ozone layer is a layer in the atmosphere that absorbs most of the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation. This protects us from the damaging effects of UV radiation, such as skin cancer and cataracts. The ozone layer is also important for regulating the Earth's climate.
