The primary food source for pandas consists of bamboo leaves and stems, making up approximately 99% of their diet. They possess a specialized digestive system that enables them to effectively process the tough fibers present in bamboo. While bamboo forms the bulk of their diet, pandas may occasionally supplement it by consuming small rodents, birds, or carrion.
