The gestation period of numbats is approximately 14 days. After giving birth, the female typically produces four tiny, underdeveloped joeys that crawl into her pouch and attach to one of her four teats. The joeys stay in the pouch for about 6-7 months before emerging and becoming more independent.

The gestation period of numbats is around 14 days. After giving birth to 4 to 5 young, the mother numbats will carry them around in her pouch for about six months. They will then leave the pouch and become independent after another six months.

Like all marsupials, the gestation period for numbats is very short. Female numbats are pregnant for just 14 days before giving birth to up to four baby numbats, called pups. The pups are born very underdeveloped, with no fur. The pups are just 2cm long at birth.
