In wheelchair tennis, players are allowed two bounces of the ball before they must return it, while in able-bodied tennis, players must return the ball before it bounces twice. This rule was introduced to accommodate the mobility limitations of wheelchair players. Other than this, the rules of wheelchair tennis are the same as able-bodied tennis, with players competing on the same size of court and using the same type of tennis balls and racquets.
