The gestation period of a Markhor, a wild goat species found in the mountains of Central Asia, typically lasts around 135 to 170 days. During this period, the female Markhor carries and nurtures the developing fetus within her womb. After mating, the fertilized egg undergoes a period of embryonic development before implanting in the uterus and initiating the gestation period. The length of the gestation period can vary slightly among individuals and environmental conditions, but the aforementioned range is generally observed. Once the gestation period is complete, the female Markhor gives birth to usually one or two offspring, known as kids, which are born with a well-developed sense of balance and can walk shortly after birth.
