Saiga antelopes, when kept in captivity, have a lifespan of up to 15 years. However, their lifespan in the wild is significantly shorter, averaging only 5-7 years. The main reason for this discrepancy is the many threats that saiga antelopes face in the wild. These include habitat loss, poaching, and disease. In captivity, saiga antelopes are protected from these threats and can therefore live much longer. However, they still require a lot of care and attention in captivity to stay healthy and thrive.
