The American Civil War took place in 1861 to 1865. It was sparked by a complex web of factors which had been brewing in the decades. The primary cause was th eissue of slavery.

Slavey played a significant role in the economic and social strusture of Southern States. The Southern was heavilt dependent on  Slavery while the northern states were Industralized. The compromise of 1850 and the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854, which allowed popular sovereignty to determine whether slavery would be permitted in these territories, further heightened sectional divisions.

The American Civil War was sparked by a variety of factors, including economic, political, and social tensions between the Northern and Southern states. Perhaps the most significant issue was slavery, with the Northern states opposing it and the Southern states relying heavily on it for their economy. Ultimately, the inability to find a peaceful resolution to these conflicts led to the outbreak of war in 1861.

The American Civil War was sparked by several factors, including slavery, economic and social differences between the North and South, and political tensions over states' rights. The election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 was also a major catalyst, as it prompted several Southern states to secede from the Union and form the Confederate States of America.
