THE AFGAN WAR IS A BROAD TERM THAT ENCOMPASSES SEVERAL CONFLICTS THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE IN AFGANISTAN OVER THE YEARS. DURING THE SOVIENT- AFGHAN WAR WHICH LASTED FROM 1979 TO 1989. THE PRESIDENT WAS BABARK KARMAL.

There have been several Presidents of Afghanistan during the Afghan War, which began in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks. The current President is Ashraf Ghani, who has been in office since 2014.
