The Argentine War of Independence was fought from 1810 to 1818. There were several leaders of the independence movement in Argentina during this time, but the most prominent figure was General José de San Martín. The first president of Argentina was Bernardino Rivadavia, who took office in 1826, several years after the end of the war.

The President of Argentina during the Argentine War of Independence was Juan Jose Paso. He was an Argentine politician and lawyer who played a significant role in the May Revolution of 1810, which led to the country's independence from Spain. Despite being a prominent figure during this time, he did not hold the title of "president" as a formal position did not exist during the war.
