The World Trade Organization (WTO) is an organization that ensures that the global trade rules are adhered to nation states. The organization supports the liberalization of trade. WTO also ensures that no nation is discriminated against or given special treatment during the trading process. WTO ensures that tariffs are used as instruments for protection of local markets. The international organization makes sure that states are given the same concessions as other states have granted to them.
