Southern Cameroons gained independence from British colonial rule on October 1, 1961, and joined the Republic of Cameroon. The first Prime Minister of Southern Cameroons after joining Cameroon was John Ngu Foncha. He served from 1961 to 1965.

Southern Cameroon, now part of Cameroon, had Foncha Solomon as its first Prime Minister when it gained autonomy in 1954. However, after reunification with Cameroon in 1961, he became the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Cameroon. I hope this is helpful?

On October 1, 1961, Southern Cameroons gained their freedom from British colonial administration and became a part of the Republic of Cameroon. During this phase of transition, Foncha Solomon was appointed as Southern Cameroons' first prime minister.

John Ngu Foncha, was born on August 20, 1916, in Buea, which was the capital of British Southern Cameroons at that time.

Cameroon used to be colonized by both the British and the French. After years of colonial rule, it gained independence in 1960.The first President was Ahmadou Ahidjo, Who led until 1982. Paul Biya became the president after Ahidjo and still the President today. So in simple terms, Cameroon got it's freedom in 1960, and the first President was Ahmadou Ahidjo, followed by Paul Biya.

Southern Cameroons gained independence from British colonial rule in 1961 and merged with the Republic of Cameroon. There wasn't a separate prime minister for Southern Cameroons after independence. Ahmadou Ahidjo served as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Cameroon during that period.

The first prime minister of Southern CAMEROON was Endeley who came into victory in 1957 and was installed a year later. The KNC merged with the KPP tp form the Cameroon People's National Convention and was the main opposition party to Foncha's KNDP.
