I know Cedric from Sofia The First was evil because he desires power to prove those that mock him that he is capable of greatness and it has been revealed that he is very much aware and hurt by how poorly others regard him. In the Sofia the first episode “A Day Of The Sorcerers”, he explains to Sofia and her family that no one noticed him when he did something right when he grew up in the castle, he was not treated with respect or kindness, only disappointment and belittlement that he was not an exact copy of his father. he also pointed out that his sister Cordelia and King Roland also made mistakes but not in his fathers eyes or Roland’s fathers eyes, But where did he get his evil from, did his father Goodwin ever give Cedric abusive punishments every time he did wrong in goodwin’s eyes when he was a teenager, if he did, then why does Goodwin think that it’s ok to punish a teen like that, was that how Goodwin was raised, if it was, then he is continuing the cycle, and also, if Goodwin really was abusive to Cedric when he was a teenager, I think Cedric would not have the desire to take over Enchancia if his mother Winifred just divorced Goodwin and took Cedric with her and if Goodwin was also arrested. what do you guys think?

In the show Sofia The First, Cedric's villainy is not triggered by any abuse from his father Goodwin. Cedric's villainy stems from his own desire for power and recognition, as well as his constant failures and frustrations. There is no indication that his father abused him as a teenager.

Thanks for the answer, Now, if Goodwyn really did abuse Cedric as a teenager, do you think Winifred should have divorced Goodwyn and take Cedric with her or that Goodwyn should have been arrested?

In "Sofia the First," Cedric's turn to villainy is not attributed to parental abuse. Cedric's motivations stem from his desire for recognition and success in sorcery. While there might be elements of his past that influenced him, there's no indication of abuse by his father, Goodwin, in the show's narrative.

Cedric's villainous behavior in Sofia the First was triggered by feelings of inadequacy and jealousy. There's no evidence suggesting abuse from his father, Goodwin, during his teenage years.
