Depression is real and I have lost a friend due to depression.  The best thing to do is talk out to your friend.  The moment you share out a problem  you'll feel some burden being rolled over.  A problem half shared is solved.  The more you keep things to yourself,  the more they get piled up and in many scenarios, you'll  start experiencing  some suicidal thoughts.  Depression is the worst sickness one could ever have.

Outside talking to people, people sort to listening to music, and also listening to uplifting testimonies from others. But Mistakenly others think that getting drunk or high may help but immediately after the effect of the drugs or alcohol the problem returns. Permanent and lasting solution to depression is through consultation.

Thankfully I don't normally suffer from depression. Naturally if something is wrong in my life I feel down, and of course there are times when this happens so I feel very low. I think the death of my mother in 2015 made me very down  but I know she would have wanted me to be happy and she did live a good long life (90) so I surrounded myself with family and tried to remember the happy times we had. She had no quality of life at the end so I knew it was time for her to go. The sadness I felt was because I could not see her any more but she had no more suffering. Eventually thinking this way helped me feel more positive and after a while I felt better.

Some people suffer from clinical depression which is different, there doesn't have to be a reason they are depressed and they may need medication or therapy to help.

There is no one "best" way to deal with depression, as it is a personal journey that is unique to everyone. Some people may find relief from their depression through positive role-playing, writing, and reflection. Others may take anticonvulsants or try an antidepressant medication. Still, others may work with a therapist or introvertedavaigate. Each person's individual situation is best suited for that.
