It is, if you don't stare at it for too long, no longer than a few minutes. The risk of damaging your eyes increases if you use magnifying devices such as binoculars or even mobile phone camera. Of course there is a possibility that you can stare at sunset for a while and your eyes will be fine, but I'd recommend not doing it just to be on the safe side.

It is safer to look at the sun during sunset rather than sunrise. The color of the sun is darker than in the morning sunrise. So it is safer for our eyes.

No, it's not safe to look directly at the sunset. when you stare at the sun ultralight will floods your retina, literally burning the exposed tissue. Short-term damage can include sunburn of the cornea, known as solar keratitis.

Yes probably, when you stare longer directly at the sunset or other types of bright light. Ultraviolet light floods your retina, literally burning the exposed tissue. In extreme cases, this can cause blindness. While sunsets are lovely do be carefully observing them better to use sunglasses or other equipment to protect your eyes

It is better not to look at it for a long period of time. Our eyes cannot withstand the brightness of it. It can damaged our eyes for being like this.
