Why should there be an obstructor in life?

Why should there be an obstructor in our life ? 

Is there any harm without them?

Sometimes the obstructor would undirectly force us to find solution or seeking another alternative ways to reach our direction (dream, life intention, job, etc) which could be eventually the better things for us
