If you send an email it was either delivered or it wasn't.   So, how can it be in Sent file as well as in Inbox as "Mailer Daemon "Mail delivery failed".

Messages are put into the "sent" folder after Outlook receives the final OK message from the outgoing email server. This merely means that the message was successfully sent to the server, not the recipient.

The email address you sent might not exist or the email provider of the receiving email address might have marked your email id as spam and hence rejected the email.

Thanks Vilma,

I was hoping to copy something here but it doesn't seem to allow it.

It is being placed inthe same file as th ones that were recieved though.

It means that you use the wrong email address. Try to recheck if you got the right email addresses. This is the common prompt "Mailer Demon."

Thanks Shavkat,

But my question is if it wasn't recieved why would it be under "Sent",  as if it was just like the ones that were received?  Why isn't there a "Not received" file or "Mailer Demon" file?

This happens every time you send it to any email address for sure you will see it on your sent folder. The mailer daemons mean that the email address is already inactive or closed account that’s why you are receiving the mailer daemon in your inbox folder.

Thanks Tweenkee,

I'm trying to copy paste something here but it won't allow it.

Anyway like I asked Shavkat above why is it under sent it was an attempted sent but since it was not recieved,  how can it be in the same file as the ones that were successfully delivered, received by the sentee?   When you look at the sent file there is no distiction between the received mail and the mailer demon ones.

Emails that have not been delivered are shown in the sent file because they are still in the process of being sent. The email server will attempt to deliver the email multiple times before it is marked as undeliverable. Once the email is marked as undeliverable it will no longer be shown in the sent file.

Undeliverable. If you receive an error that a message is undeliverable, this could be due to the sending server trying to deliver the message, but the action didn't complete before the message expired. This error typically indicates a problem on the receiving server.

Emails that are not delivered can still appear in your Sent folder because the mail server still attempts to deliver them. You may see a "Mailer Daemon" message in your Inbox indicating that the message was not delivered, but the original message will still appear in your Sent folder.
