Moisture which causes corrosion.

Heat causing backlight failure.

Pressure causing screen issues.

Poor interconnects at the edge of the screen.

Rugged handling dropping or jarring.

Over extension of hinges or over use constantly opening and closing.

Having something between the keyboard and the screen when you close it.

Faulty inverter for the backlight.

Long Screwing the battery compartment and continuing use without knowing any better causing pressure points.

Storage in the improper places such as leaving it in your trunk or backseat all night when weather doesn’t quite meet the standards of storage and or operation specifics of the said laptop.

The LCD has simply reached it’s EOL.

Another odd one I seen was peeling of black backing causing shadowing.

Burn in in some cases more so on older screens due to having no screen saver and being on for hours.

A single one of these or a combination of things will do it.

Hope this helps.

one of the leading causes, about 90%, of no display issues in both laptop and desktop computers due to faulty RAM (RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY).

Usually caused by either the monitor, video card (GPU), or video settings.  Some symptoms that indicate an LCD display or video issue are a blank or black screen, color fade, fuzzy, blurry, distorted, or stretched image. Windows updates can support your Windows operating system in many ways. It can solve specific problems, provide protection from malicious attacks, or even as new features to the operating system. Change the video or display settings and adjust the brightness. Changing the display setting can help resolve several types of videos issues.

  1. Hardware issues: This could include a faulty graphics card, a damaged display screen, or a loose or damaged cable connecting the display to the motherboard.

  2. Software issues: This could include corrupted display drivers or a virus or malware affecting the display.

There are two primary causes: Motherboard has faulty hardware parts, or the LCD or LED is broken. Either one of the two is what's causing the problem, and knowing which is the key to solving it.
