Behaviorally anchored rating scales (BARS) is a type of performance appraisal system in which employees are evaluated on a scale of behaviors rather than on general attributes. This method is important to performance appraisal because it allows for more accurate and objective evaluations of an individual's performance. To use BARS, you must identify the behaviors you want to measure and then rate each behavior on a scale. This allows you to evaluate an individual's performance based on specific criteria.
