In Greek mythology, the creature that lived at the center of the Cretan Labyrinth was the Minotaur. It was a monstrous creature, half-man and half-bull, that was the offspring of Pasiphaƫ and the Cretan bull. It was kept in a labyrinth designed by the architect Daedalus, and was eventually slain by the hero Theseus.
