Can hawks fly long distances without resting?

Most hawks are capable of flying long distances without resting. However, the distance depends on the species and the conditions of their migration.

For example, the Swainson's hawk can fly up to 7,000 miles during its migration from North America to South America without stopping.

The red-tailed hawk can also fly long distances without resting, but it is not known for its migration capabilities.

Generally, hawks are known for their ability to glide for long periods without flapping their wings, which conserves their energy.

Hawks are capable of flying long distances without resting, particularly during migration. Some species of hawks, such as the Swainson's Hawk, are known to migrate thousands of miles each year between their breeding and wintering grounds. During migration, hawks will often use thermals, or columns of warm rising air, to gain altitude and conserve energy while flying long distances.

HAWKS ARE KNOWN FOR THEIR IMPRESSIVE FLYING ABILITIES AND ENDURANCE BUT THEY DO REQUIRE PERIODS OF REST AND CANNOT FLY CONTINUOUSLY WITHOUT TAKING BREAKS.
