Earthworms cannot survive in water for an extended period of time. They are terrestrial animals and require air to breathe, which they obtain through their skin. If they are submerged in water for too long, they can drown. However, they can survive in moist environments and can sometimes be found in muddy soil or near bodies of water.

EARTHWORMS ARE NOT ADAPTED TO LIVE ENTIRELY IN WATER. WHILE THEY REQUIRE A MOIST ENVIRONMENT FOR RSPIRATION THROUGH THEIR SKIN, SUBMERGING THEM IN WATER FOR EXTENDED PERIODS CAN BE DETRIMENTAL TO THEIR SURVIVAL.

Earthworms are adapted to live in soil and depend on oxygen from air pockets. While they can survive short periods in waterlogged soil, prolonged submersion can be harmful or fatal due to the lack of oxygen.

Earthworms are not adapted to living in water and can drown if submerged for an extended period. While they can absorb moisture from damp soil and survive short periods of flooding, prolonged exposure to water can be fatal to them.

Earthworms are terrestrial creatures and are not adapted for survival in water. They respire through their skin, which needs to be in contact with the air to exchange gases effectively. If submerged in water for an extended period, earthworms can suffocate and may not survive. They are best suited for life in moist soil but not in aquatic environments.
