The kakapo and okapi are both endangered species. They are both native to specific regions of the world- the kakapo to New Zealand and the okapi to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Additionally, they are both unique in their physical characteristics- the kakapo is a flightless parrot, while the okapi has zebra-like stripes on its legs despite being more closely related to giraffes.
