The Okapi Conservation Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the okapi and its habitat in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The project works to protect these elusive and endangered animals through a range of activities, including community education and empowerment, anti-poaching patrols, scientific research and monitoring, and habitat restoration. The project also collaborates with local and international organizations to promote conservation and sustainable development in the region. Since its establishment in 1987, the Okapi Conservation Project has made significant contributions to the preservation of the okapi and its ecosystem, while also improving the lives of local communities.
