The Markhor is a wild goat species that lives in the mountains of central and southern Asia, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. They prefer rocky and steep terrain at high elevations, especially in areas with plenty of vegetation for grazing. Sadly, their habitat and population is threatened by hunting, habitat loss, and competition with domestic livestock.
