IDI AMIN CAME TO POWER THROUGH A MILITARY COUP IN 1971 AND RULED UGANDA WITH AN AUTHORITARIAN REGIME CHARACTERIZED BY HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES AND POLITICAL REPRESSION.
