What is the easiest method to take screenshots on mac?

To answer your question we must take some steps into consideration.

Now when your using windows operating system the easiest way you could take a screenshot would be to press "windows key" + "Prt SCR (print screen)" on your keyboard.

Which is probably the same when using MAC. But when your using Mac you would need to click "Command Key" + "Prt Scr" on your keyboard.

Also you could always download snipping tool and it would automatically print your screen.

Press Shift-Command-4, then move the crosshair pointer to where you want to start the screenshot. Press the mouse or trackpad button, drag over the area you want to capture, then release the mouse or trackpad button. Press Shift-Command-4, then press the Space bar.
