Hello everybody. I have three goals:
1. I want to speak English, German, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese like native speakers.
2. I want to become a conference interpreter and work with those six languages.
3. I want to become a woman because I am a transsexual girl.
Some information about me:
I am turning eighteen in September and since I live in Germany, my German is very fluent. Many native speakers say that my German is native-like. The same goes for my English. But even very good second-language speakers always have something new to learn. I don't think that my language skills are already native-like. As you saw above, I had written 'Is the following goal achievable?' despite having three goals. The reason why I did that is that I want to know whether the first goal is possible. I know that becoming a conference interpreter and a woman is achievable. And I am kind of sure that speaking six languages like native speakers is possible too. But my self-esteem is really poor. There have been and are many conference interpreters working with 7-8 languages. Also, neuroplasticity helps a lot because it enables our brains to change and perfect new skills regardless of how old we are. I know that it is not going to be easy but I am ready to make many sacrifices. I am willing to forego many things many people wouldn't forego. For example, I will never have a family, I will never get into a relationship, I already sleep less than necessary, etc. And despite turning 18 in September, I have never gone to a party. I love languages and those six languages have really grown to me.
