Well, far from chocolate, of course, but cacao pods are the fruit of cacao trees and the source of cacao and chocolate. Cocoa trees are capricious and only grow in very humid climates near the equator. These are tropical Africa, parts of South and Central America, the Indonesian islands, Malaysia and some other parts of Southeast Asia. The trees are easily susceptible to fungal diseases and are extremely susceptible to climate change. Cocoa trees are mostly grown by small family farms.

Chocolate does not actually grow on trees, but rather it comes from the seeds of the cacao tree, which is native to Central and South America. The cacao tree grows in tropical regions and requires specific conditions to produce high-quality cocoa beans, including warm temperatures, high humidity, and well-drained soil. The majority of the world's chocolate now comes from West Africa, with other major producing regions including South America, Asia, and the Pacific.

Chocolate trees do not exist in nature. Chocolate is made from the beans of the cacao tree, which grows in tropical climates such as Central and South America, Africa, and Asia. The beans are harvested and processed to create the chocolate we enjoy today.
