I did it, when had a car. Oil changes are not that hard. I had garage with pit, so it was not that hard. Also change brake plates one time. That was more difficult procedure but also not the one that requires skills of professional mechanic. Had to sold car and garage to repair house. Do not need car those times because of job type and location. Now thinking of buying one. There is a need in having it.

It depends on the type of maintenance and my level of knowledge and experience. If it is something simple like changing the oil or replacing a tire, I may do it myself. However, if it is a more complex issue or something that I am not comfortable doing, I would take my car to a mechanic.

Yes I do perform maintainence on my own car. I regularly do oil changes check brakes and tune up the engine to keep my car running well. I check the tire pressure and other fluid levels too. I try to keep up with regular maintenance to keep my car running smoothly.

Keep Fluids Clean :In addition to having all the fluids in your car clean, you should always remember to top up. Such fluids include your engine oil, transmission fluid, radiator fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, air conditioning coolant and washer fluid.

Maintaining a car can range from changing the oil and filter, to fixing a flat tire. Depending on the car, some changes may be simple and cost nothing, while other repairs may require expensive parts or time taken to do correctly. Whether or not you do the work yourself largely depends on the make and model of the car, as well as your experience and mechanical know-how.

Of course yes, maintenance is a very important and vital practice and factor to making sure your car life is extended.

The maintenance practice I often vary out on my car include: checking the gauge of my cars tires, checking for the gauge and quality of the oil and changing of such oil at the appropriate time. Others include periodic washing to maintain the color of the car and to guide against rust.
