People think suicide brings freedom from the earthly tribulations, No it doesn't. it is like a child who choses to leave school rather than stay to face his classwork, assignments and graduate to become a good student. After passing on, the soul still feels the pain of the means of suicide. It is easier to face the tribulations here on earth and make amends here on earth, the burdens becomes heavier after passing on.

Based on the Hindu Mythology and The Bhagwat Geeta, A soul changes bodies as if changing clothes. The body is perishable but the soul is not.

Once you die, your soul leaves your body to enter another body, that is, reincarnation.

In the same scripture, it's also written, that you are born into the human body after 840000000 lives in different kinds of bodies. If you manage to cleanse your soul, it will reach the God, termed as Moksha, if you don't, then the cycle of reincarnation will continue.

So basically, in my religion, there's no punishment on suicide. It's just destiny.
