Herodotus famously wrote about the Greco-Persian Wars. His work, which is known as the Histories, is considered one of the first works of history. In it, he described the events leading up to the wars, the battles and sieges that took place, and the aftermath of the conflict. He also wrote about the customs and cultures of the various peoples involved in the wars.
