If you have a strong battery you can charge it overnight but I won't advice you to charge your battery if it is not strong enough

It is definitely bad to leave your phone to charge all night. It is recommended to charge your phone to the point it is fully charged, leavening the phone plugged to power after this point could be dangerous and harmful.

It depends on the specific situation and person. Some people might think it is bad to charge their phone overnight because it can give the impression of being Charged On Strike. Others might be happy with the idea of being able to use the phone overnight because they know they will be able to get their calls and texts done at night. Ultimately, it is up to the individual to decide whether or not they think it is bad to charge their phone overnight.

There is no problems of charging your smartphones over so long as power is regulated and you are using smart charger that will disconnect itself after it's completely charged

The one thing all the experts agree upon is that smartphones are smart enough that they do not let an overload happen. Extra protection chips inside make sure that can't happen in a tablet or smartphone or even a laptop.

According to my experience there is nothing to worry about when charging your phone overnight because nowadays electronics are digital such that when fully charged it stops and disconnects itself automatically.

Modern smartphones are built with safeguards against overcharging, so charging your phone over night usually doesn't harm it. Lithium-ion batteries, which are used in the majority of smartphones, have built-in systems that cause them to shut off when they are fully charged.

However, how you charge your battery can affect its longevity. Keeping your phone constantly at a very high state of charge—that is, always fully charged—may cause the battery to degrade a little more quickly over time. For maximum longevity, it is generally advised to maintain your phone's battery level between 20% and 80%.

Contemporary smartphones are built to handle overnight charging without causing noticeable problems, and they frequently include features that optimise charging.
