Washington and Cabernet Blends go perfect with steak. Bordeaux also goes good with steak because Bordeaux is a blend of Cabernet and Merlot. Malbec is another wine that goes good with steak as it is an alternative to Cabernet. These are all red wines.
I, on the other hand, to not prefer red wines as I find them to be too strong and too tart. I prefer Zinfandel. As in, white zinfandel. Zinfandels are lighter and sweeter, but they do not knock out the taste of the steak. Zinfandels also come in reds and have less tannins that the others mentioned above.

With so many wine options out there, you will find Zinfandel more pleasurable to the pallet and it compliments just about any steak dish, especially if you are using a barbeque sauce for the steak.

The best wine to pair with steak is typically a full-bodied red wine such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec, Zinfandel, or Merlot.

There is no one "best" wine for steak. Different steak professionals will have their own recommendations. Some people prefer dry red wine while others prefer dry white wine. Some people enjoy dry red wine with light food while others enjoy dry white wine with heavy food. Some people choose to drink the wine while others choose to eat the wine. Some people choose to drink the wine before dinner and others choose to drink the wine after dinner.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question as the best wine to pair with steak can depend on several factors such as the cut of the steak, how it's cooked, and personal taste preferences. However, some general guidelines can help you choose a good wine to pair with steak.

Red wines are generally considered the best option to pair with steak as they have tannins that can cut through the richness of the meat. Full-bodied red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, and Zinfandel are popular choices. These wines have bold flavors and high tannins that can balance the flavors of the meat.

If you're having a steak that is cooked rare or medium-rare, consider a lighter red wine like Pinot Noir or Beaujolais. If you prefer a white wine, a full-bodied Chardonnay can also work well.

Ultimately, the best wine to pair with steak is the one that you enjoy the most. Don't be afraid to experiment and try different wines until you find the perfect pairing for your tastes.
