I've always been intrigued by the mystery surrounding D.B. Cooper and the hijacking of the Northwest Orient Flight 305 back in 1971. After extorting a $200,000 ransom, Cooper famously parachuted out of the plane never to be seen or heard from again. Despite years of intense investigations, his true identity has still never been uncovered, leaving a lingering cloud of uncertainty over what really happened that fateful day. I believe that until we have answers to the questions that have haunted this case for almost five decades, we will never be able to make peace with this bizarre story.

I'm familiar with this story, and it's been something that tried to piece together for a while.

Stay with me a bit, and I'll try not to make it a scrawl.

First, it's obvious that Cooper had done his intel work, from knowing where to drop, handle the hostage situation, etc. This man was no idiot.

Add to this the fact that he parachuted out of an air-plane, and I would bet the house on Mr. Cooper being ex-military, and highly trained at that.

His fate is also a lingering question, did he survive the weather conditions once he dropped? Many experts point out that he was too lightly dressed for the cold he would have had to endure, but I'm having a hard time believing he wasn't prepared for that with some thermal clothing under the suit and tie.

We also had a packet of bills discovered from the money he absconded with, this could have been a ruse. I expect that Mr Cooper would have been smart enough to have someone ready to pick him up, and that this wasn't a one man operation, it was two.

In summary, an ex-military type, possibly an officer, that staged and got away with a hijacking. Today's technology wouldn't allow a repeat of that.

There is no mystery behind D.B. Cooper as he is just a criminal mastermind who pulled off a daring highjack in the early 70s. Despite being a well-known figure, no one has been able to claim responsibility for the crime.

My thoughts torwards Cooper is that he his dead since the night of skyjacking . DB Cooper parachuted from an airline at night anywhere from 50-70 Miles away from where he anticipate to do so. He was not wearing any survival gear.

If he was dead he would have been found at that spot anywhere near there & there wouldn't be any mystery left behind him. If he is crazy enough to hijack airplane all by himself without even keeping a real bomb but making a hoax out of it then I guess he's crazy enough to survive!

The case has fascinated and intrigued many people for decades, and numerous theories and speculations have emerged about the identity and fate of the hijacker. Some believe that he may have died during the jump, while others suggest that he managed to escape and start a new life under a different identity.

Various suspects have been named over the years, but none have been definitively linked to the crime. The FBI officially suspended active investigation of the case in July 2016, although it continues to receive and review new information and leads.
