In the original Elena Of Avalon episode “The Magic Within”, Elena & her family have dinner, while they eat Elena & her family tell Flo about Shuriki, that she killed her parents & that her parents never got to see the float, Isabel tells Flo that Esteban saw the float, but then Esteban says that he does not recall and had to attend a business, then Flo suggests Elena to use her truth vision to find out what the float looked like, but Esteban would not have it, but when Elena & her family saw how Esteban was behaving Elena asks the scepter where Esteban was when her parents were working on the carnival float anyways causing the scepter to reveal a young Esteban & a young Victor rowing Shuriki to shore and leading her to Avalor saying that they can sneak her through the sentries through the city and that they will rule Avalor together, Everyone reacted to this, Isabel’s reaction was not seen by I know she was scared & sad, Luisa & Francisco were scared, sad, angry and showed hatred, Elena was even more Shocked, Angry & Showed More Hatred then Luisa & Francisco, in fact she was so angry her dress turned from red to orange which is followed by floating dinner food, plates, bowls, dishes, napkins & silverware, when the guards come in to see what is happening, Elena says “Guards, arrest Chancellor Esteban, & Get him out of my sight” which they do, then everything from the table that floated dropped back to the table and Elena’s dress turned red again, afterwords the shocked & sad family continue eating.
In the dungeons, Esteban said “This is ridiculous, I should be out there preparing for carnival”, & Ash said “44 years of service to the castle only to be treated like a common prisoner, wait you are a common prisoner”, Esteban is convinced that his family will forgive him after he explains his sad story, but Victor asks him what makes him so sure that his family will forgive him, When Esteban is told that the council would like to see him, he has faith that his family will forgive him, but he loses that faith when he arrived in the grand council room where he saw Elena, Luisa, Francisco & Naomi showing Malice instead of Compassion, an excited flo comes in and tells everyone it’s carnival time, but Elena tells Flo that carnival has to wait, then Esteban explains that after his parents died he felt invisible because everyone listened to Elena instead of him, he wanted to be listened to, so he accepted the power shuriki gave him and helped her take over Avalor, but Shuriki also promised Esteban that she would not attack anyone and she broke the promise, Francisco was disappointed in Esteban but forgives him, while Luisa sued him saying “My Daughter & Son & Law Are Gone Because Of YOU (points to Esteban) How Can I Forgive That” to which Flo replies “I Don’t Think She Can”, Naomi angrily agrees with Luisa, (which is very sad because at first at the beginning of the Elena Of Avalor series, Naomi & Esteban did not like each other and did not get along but then Elena had them bond, so much for that friendship because now she does not know what to believe about him), finally Elena also does not forgive Esteban, but does not want him to stay in the dungeons so she decides that the consequence Esteban will receive is an exile, Then she holds a vote saying “All those in favor of Exiling Esteban from Avalor raise your hand”, Elena, Naomi & Luisa raise their hands while Francisco crosses his arms instead, then Elena says “3 votes in favor, 1 against, the grand council has ruled”, then she tells the guards to take him back to the dungeons saying that he will be exiled after carnival.
The Delgados make fun of Esteban when they learned that Elena & her family do not forgive him, When Higgins comes in Esteban says “Higgins, My Old Friend”, Then Higgins said that after what Esteban did they are not friends anymore, Then Esteban lures Higgins into bringing him a statue with a key he placed inside in case Shuriki double crossed him. Then after the Delgados tell him that they must help him get past the guards and that he needs magic to fight magic, he lets the Delgados out and helps them reclaims their tamboritas, then they escape Avalor.
Elena & her family eventually find out about this causing Elena to get angry again, her dress turns orange like it did before, then the floats grow big and become evil, the Alpaca float which Elena’s family is inside runs off, Elena follows the float which is following Esteban & the Delgados up a mountain, while they were on the mountain, Elena gets so angry she creates an avalanche that nearly hurts Carla, Victor managed to save Carla but then Victor refuses to go to the well of crystals with ash after the danger Ash put Carla through saying that he’s done with the dark pursuits, ash then immediately turns victor to stone causing Carla to sadly refuse to go with her, Then Esteban continues to work with ash out of fear and they manage to escape.
But wonder what would happen if Esteban never really escaped with Ash, Victor & Carla and served his exile, what would Soledad Island (the island Esteban was supposed to be exiled to) be like, would it have a prison?
