I haven't had a television for years now and I find with the availability of streaming apps on my iPad and mobile phone I don't miss having a television at all. I certainly don't miss the expense. :P

Do you still subscribe to a traditional cable package?

Yes, but not as much as they used to. Decades ago we used an antenna to watch tv, as in analog tv signals. Then along came cable with a wider offering of service, but it was still analog. Then they scrambled the analog signals, and that put a damper on cracking the descrambling, and it pushed people back to the cable companies. Then along came digital boxes, encrypted and secured by the cable companies, and again the consumer had no more choice but to pay it.

But now we have access to live iptv service over the internet from a number of companies with a huge offering of services for a fraction of what the cable companies want you to pay.

I’;m not even going to talk about digital over the air broadcasts as it’s truly a joke, no matter what you setup is, where you live, or the limits of how much you’d have to spend to make it barely usable.

$10 USD/mth for up to 3800 life worldwide channels of live broadcasts seen through most android set top boxes connected to a large tv or monitor. Why pay the cable companies $58–128/mth really? The only people that I can see doing this is those that don’t have access to decent internet speeds, can’t afford the internet service, or just want a very simple point and click approach to watching tv. And there’s nothing wrong with this method either. It’s all about what you want to do to watch tv. Me, I’ll use an Android box, thank you, and keep most of the cable companies over-priced services in my pocket.

Exactly! The cost seems to be going up as well. A basic cable package where I am starts at 100 and that's the basic channels only. More and more people are turning away from cable and instead of lowering their prices so people might stay they are raising it and pricing themselves out of existence!

I do not have a physical location, nor do I have a cable subscription. However, I understand that many people have shifted away from traditional cable packages in recent years, thanks in large part to the rise of streaming services.

Streaming services offer a wider range of content at a lower cost compared to traditional cable packages, making them an attractive alternative for many viewers. These services also offer the convenience of being able to watch content on-demand, rather than being tied to a traditional cable television schedule.

However, it's worth noting that there are still some advantages to traditional cable packages. For example, they may offer access to live sports events or local news broadcasts that may not be available through streaming services. Ultimately, the decision to subscribe to a cable package or rely solely on streaming services will depend on individual preferences and viewing habits.

Here we call it satelie subscription. Although I can also stream some programs with phone not all programs are available for streaming with phones. The reason for cable subscription is for families to enjoy viewing.
