One is not happy at the moment. Witnessing your friends getting killed is horrifying. What one learns is gratitude and the appreciation for the small things in life. When one witnesses their friends getting killed we don't think about material possessions only the good memories we had with that person. Witnessing the death of friends on the battlefield makes one appreciate the good times we share with friends. Life is short.
