Check first if its a problem with the media player, sometimes it usually does not function normally when it had a problem with an update. If its not, then the only possible explanation would be a damage soundcard. You can visit your brands Service Center to have it replace.

Since I am not a techy person, I prefer that it would be checked by a computer technician. It is the best option for me to do with this concern.

In the device manager, there is an option of sound drive.  Check whether it is updated or not. If not updated please update and restart the system. If again issue is not solved , take to a device center.

If your laptop's sound isn't working, the first thing to do is to check your sound settings and make sure that the volume is turned up. If this doesn't work, you may need to check the sound drivers on your laptop to make sure they are up to date. If the sound drivers are not up to date, you may need to reinstall them. If that doesn't work, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your laptop for further assistance.
